Oxygen Forensic® Detective Tackles Data Extraction and Acquisition from iCloud with Latest Release

Oxygen Forensics, the worldwide developer and provider of advanced forensic data examination tools for mobile devices, announced today the availability of Oxygen Forensic® Detective 8.4 that helps forensics experts with data extraction and acquisition on iCloud including photos and any data on iCloud Drive.

Oxygen Forensic® Detective v.8.4 now allows forensic experts the ability to find information on iOS devices from.

  • iCloud Photos – the new release added the ability to extract data from iCloud Photos. Forensic experts obtain access to photos, their geo coordinates and time stamps. Extracted photos with geo coordinates can be viewed offline with Oxygen Forensic® Maps.
  • iCloud Drive – the updated version added the ability to extract data from iCloud Drive. This includes the ability to extract all available files including documents, videos and photos.

Extracting data from the cloud is vital when a device owner is missing along with the device. In such cases, forensic experts using Oxygen Forensic® Detective have a unique opportunity to analyze the latest saved photos, track them on a map and use that to figure out the user’s route and/or location.
