Mapping Using Geo Locations and Importing CDRs
In this course the student will learn how valuable location information can be for today’s digital investigation. Not only is understanding where this data can be obtained but how to place it in readable format and ultimately present this data for court or client.
Much of the data that is consumed by today’s digital devices is used for location services. By retrieving this information an investigator can extract the valuable geo data to map locations potentially identifying where someone was or was not. With geo location data, combined with call detail records obtained from a service provider, the student will be able to visually show within Oxygen Forensic Maps where, when, and what someone was doing during a time specified by the student.
